**************Pest Control
Orkin provides annual inspection and treatment for termites and other pests. If you have a pest problem, please let the property manager know.

**************Special Notice about Water Service
If you need to turn the water off for routine maintenance or repair in your unit, the board requires that you post a notice at least 72 hours in advance above the mail boxes and in the laundry room. You must also email or call the property manager (Beck and Co.) with your unit number and planned shutoff time. The preferred times for interruption of service are between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm weekdays. If you have a plumbing emergency (i.e. significant water leak) this rule does not apply.

**************Abandoned bicycles
Bicycles which appear to be abandoned (evidenced by thick layers of dust and flat tires) will be tagged. If they are not removed by the owner after being tagged, they will be removed by the association and donated to charity.

****************Special Notice About Aluminum Wiring
Barton Terrace units were originally wired with aluminum wiring. Unless you or a previous owner has had your unit re-wired, you still have aluminum wiring in your walls. Aluminum wiring can sometimes be dangerous if wires become loose and are allowed to arc. If you notice lights that flicker repeatedly, you should have a qualified electrician examine your wiring as soon as possible. Failure to do so could result in a fire. Arcing may also occur without any visible warning. Possible solutions include re-wiring the unit with copper wiring, pig-tailing copper wiring to the aluminum wiring, installing arc-fault circuit interrupters (AFCI) and/or tightening the aluminum connections. The HOA Board recommends that all owners have their wiring evaluated by a qualified electrician.
